GroundSure Flood Report

Features and benefits

The Environment Agency estimates that one in six homes in England and Wales is at risk of flooding. This figure is significantly greater than previous estimates as a result of the recent inclusion of flood risk data associated with overland surface water or pluvial flooding, in addition to the more traditional tidal and river flooding considered in the past- in addition to the more traditional tidal and river flooding considered in the past. It is also possible to have flood events as a result of rising groundwater levels and this is known as groundwater flooding. Undertaking flood risk searches only where a property is located adjacent to a river or the sea is therefore not a robust or prudent approach in the course of a property transaction.

GroundSure Flood includes a wide range of data that considers many types of flood risk in addition to which an opinion on the likely availability of insurance for flood risk is provided based upon data utilised extensively by the Association of British Insurers - EA NaFRA data. The report covers:

  • Environment Agency tidal and river flooding
  • areas benefiting from flood defence
  • pluvial flood risk
  • likely availability of insurance for flood risk
  • British Geological Survey groundwater flood risk
  • turnaround <1 hour
  • £15.10+VAT

GroundSure can also provide access to flood risk consultancy advice to assist in resolving scenarios where a search report may have identified potential material flood risks requiring further consideration and resolution.
