Ordnance Survey Boundary-Line Formats
The following formats are available for Ordnance Survey Boundary-Line. For reference, CAD refers to Computer Aided Design software whilst GIS refers to Geographic Information Systems.
- DXF - A basic vector format which can be read by a wide variety of both CAD and GIS packages
- DWG - Primarily for use in CAD packages such as AutoCAD
- MID/MIF - This format consists of a mid and a mif part for each file. It is native to the MapInfo range of GIS software but can often be opened in other GIS packages
- SHP - A format containing several files which is native to the ESRI range of GIS software but which is again widely recognised by many other GIS systems
- BDS - This format is native to the CADCorp range of GIS software although CADCorp will read all of the formats provided by CENTREMAPSlive and many others besides.
