Features and benefits

OS StreetView is a very clear mapping product showing an impressive amount of detail taking it beyond simple street mapping. The data is very useful whether you simply want to print it out, put it in a report or use it as a backdrop to other information for example in a geographical information system (GIS).

In addition to the clear streets and street names you would expect, the detail includes: building outlines; railways; woodland and water features.

Important buildings such as Police Stations and Railway Stations are also marked and in less populated areas significant buildings such as farms can be marked to help provide locatable features. Usefully, railway crossings such as gantries and bridges are also shown making clear the routes available to those travelling on foot.

The small file size and colour palette that can be customised to enhance or hide features make this product ideal for internet location mapping.

Combinations Ordnance Survey StreetView is an image based product which is designed to be simple to view and understand. It works very well as a backdrop to further detail which you may wish to overlay whether it simply be marking out a few useful waypoints on a location plan or as a background to detailed statistical analysis in geographic information systems (GIS).

The mapping has been derived by the combination of the detailed Ordnance Survey 1:10,000 scale data and their OSCAR Traffic-Manager Routing software and as such it can work very well as a backdrop when combined with routing products. Being an image format product the data does not contain any information beyond visual routing in itself and so would require routing data for this purpose.

As with most of our products, the data can be overlaid with both postcode and administrative areas of various levels through the main ordering process.
Available as PDF (layered) document or as a TIFF image with a georeference file for those who need it
Cannot The product is an image format and so the lines and features within cannot be manipulated although image editing software can change colours and alter the mapping visually.
Also consider For more detail Ordnance Survey 1:10,000 image format is available whilst the 1:25,000 range offer a wider overview and excellent information on the local environment without including streetnames
