Admin and Postcode
'Administrative areas' offers information describing varying levels of administrative boundary. The information can interesting visually when used with background mapping and more powerfully when combined with statistical information relating to the areas involved.
If a visual representation only is required then it is recommended that the overlay section of this system is used as this allows a choice of mapping detail appropriate to your requirements to be overlain with a choice of:
- Counties/Unitaries/Boroughs
- Constituency Boundaries
- Parishes
- Ward Boundaries
- Local Authority Districts/Unitaries/Boroughs
'Postcode mapping' includes detailed information to either represent a point with in each postcode or to accurately identify the outline of each individual postcode area.
Although useful visually when combined with a mapping background, the data becomes most useful when used with appropriate software. Solutions for point data include identifying a location for a delivery vehicle to head for whilst the identification of specific postcode outlines can be linked to detailed data to indicate the distribution of store customers or potential customers from a particular income bracket; enabling targeted marketing.
Postcode information is also available through our site as a surprisingly inexpensive overlay to most of our mapping products with area, district and sector (e.g. in Oxford OX, OX1 and OX1 1 represent one example of each of the three levels respectively).
