UKMap is a modern, highly detailed and feature rich mapping database developed and captured by The Geoinformation Group independently of Ordnance Survey.
Its innovative design offers users a flexible choice of integrated map layers within a single geographic information source.
Based on 1:1,000 scale topographic mapping, UKMap accurately locates buildings, garages, property boundaries, roads, trees and a multitude of other features.
UKMap is made up of the Topo product suite, comprising of 8 map layers, and the Thematic product suite (due to be available early 2010), a 1:5,000 scale map layer with annotations for use on the web.

Thematic (due for release early 2010)
UKMap launched mid 2009 with 1,700 sqkm coverage for the London boroughs as the first UKMap City.
Forthcoming areas proposed for 2010 are the West Midlands conurbation, Merseyside, Manchester and parts of Yorkshire.
Beyond this the 5 year programme extends to mapping 500 towns and cities, covering all population centres over 10,000 in population and representing some 24,000 square kilometres throught the UK.
UKMap is a rich geographical database with many levels of attribution which are most powerfully explored with the benefits of querying and customisation offered by most popular GIS packages.
As such, SHP, MID/MIF and TAB formats are available with other options including BDS (for Cadcorp) on request.
For most purchases, the data attribution is supplied as a single "flat" table making access to the data simpler and more immediate. However, it is also possible to keep the underlying database tables seperate which primarily offers the benefit of reducing empty fields and thus reducing the "footprint" of the data holding.
DXF / DWG versions are also available to those working in CAD (computer aided design) environments such as AutoCAD. All line work is included and as much attribution as possible is retained in this format of supply.
For those looking for a convenient method of accessing the product and sharing with other members of their team, a layered PDF is available on request either to compliment other formats or as a format in it's own right.
